"GAEC Val Mont-Blanc" - Milking cows

Discover an authentic Alpine farming tradition by watching the daily milking of the cows at GAEC Le Val Mont-Blanc. During winter, the milking takes place at the farm on Route de l'Épine in Combloux. It's a great opportunity to discover the daily work of local farmers and learn more about mountain dairy farming. In summer, the herd moves to the Bogneuve mountain pasture, at an altitude of 1,600 metres in Saint-Nicolas-la-Chapelle. After an approximately 1½-hour walk from the Chaucisse car park, visitors can watch the milking of around 70 cows, surrounded by beautiful Alpine scenery and panoramic mountain views. The milk is processed directly on the farm into traditional cheeses and dairy products, including farmhouse Reblochon, Abondance, Tomme, Raclette cheese and yoghurts. These products, along with a selection of local specialities, are available in the GAEC's three farm shops. To extend your visit, don't miss the farm in Combloux. During the summer, you can meet the young calves and browse the farm shop, which offers the farm's cheeses as well as a wide range of local products. General public. From 1 June to 15 September the milking takes place in the Alpine pastures from Chaucisse.
