As part of WWF France’s “Entre Chien et Loup” program, a themed evening event will be held to raise awareness among hikers about the presence of livestock guard dogs and pastoralism, as well as the return of wolves to the Alps.

Winter :
Accessibility of the refuge in general: snowshoeing / ski touring / downhill skiing via Combe de Gers + Forêt magique OR Piste des cascades but plan to come on foot between the pisteurs' hut and the refuge (10 minutes).
Access by 12/15/2026 (barring heavy snowfalls in the meantime).
Snowshoes or crampons: via Lededian and Sixt Fer à Cheval.
Ski touring: prefer access via Flaine, as there is not enough snow below the refuge to go up and down via Cascade.
Downhill skiing: currently impossible.
Summer skiing:
Nearest village or resort: Samoëns and Sixt Fer à Cheval
Walking time from nearest parking lot "Pont de Ledédian": 2h walk
Access by footpath, with a donkey, mountain bike, 4x4, quad, motorcycle (summer), snowshoes, cross-country skis and alpine skis (winter).
