Two climbing areas less than a 10-minute walk from each other—enough to keep you busy all day. Be careful, though, of the intense heat in the summer and the mostly vertical routes.

Park on the side of the road between Balme and Arâches, below Arberroz, at a hairpin turn with a guardrail on the outside (the first hairpin turn to the left as you climb, after the Balme cliff). Just above the bend, enter the forest.
– For Balmette: An almost level trail quickly leads to the rock.
– For Superbalmette: Take the trail (marked in red) that climbs to the left as soon as you enter the woods. There is a fixed rope just before the cliff.
