A beautiful, long hike that takes you up high to look out over the hamlet of Romme all the way to the Col de Gueule à Vent. In the foothills of the Aravis Range, discover the local mountain pastures set against magnificent mountain scenery.

Located near Cluses-Scionzier, this round-trip route begins in the hamlet of Romme, a small mountain village with a preserved and authentic atmosphere. Meet the alpine herders at the Chalets de Vormy—a chance to immerse yourself in a farming landscape typical of our mountains and take home some cheese produced right there. From the Vormy alpine pasture, the trail gradually levels out, offering opportunities to admire the many panoramic views of Mont Blanc and the surrounding peaks. At the foot of the Pointe d’Areu, the route continues to the aptly named Col de la Geule à Vent. The Bargy mountain range then comes into view from a superb vantage point.

Further information on localisation

From Cluses, take the D119 toward Nancy-sur-Cluses. Drive through Nancy and continue on the D119 until you reach the Romme resort. Drive through the hamlet of Romme and park at the edge of the hamlet in a parking lot with a bus shelter and a pond.
