Those bread ovens are atypical because of their shape. They were built in the 19th century by the inhabitants of the village.
From monday to saturday, the twin bread ovens were used by turns by the families of the village to cook their bread, in condition of bringing their own wood for the fire. A unique mark was drawn of the breads to recognize the family they were for. They worked until the 30's and were refurbished in 1978-79. They are preserved so well that, every year, families come to cook their bread again during the "Fête du Pain" (Bread Day) in Septembre, at the same date than the European Heritage Days. There are only few bread ovens like this ones.
