The Trou de la Mouche lets you escape into a wild, near high-mountain setting on a spectacular yet accessible hike.
In the heart of the Aravis range, the Trou de la Mouche hike offers a striking immersion into a near high-mountain atmosphere, along a loop starting from La Clusaz. Between sunlit alpine pastures, limestone formations sculpted by time, and vast high-altitude combes, the trail gradually reveals a spectacular landscape, culminating in its highlight: an impressive natural arch, a true geological curiosity perched at over 2,400 meters.
The Trou de la Mouche acts like a window onto the surrounding scenery. As you pass through this opening in the rock, the view shifts from one combe to another, unveiling the raw beauty of the Bornes-Aravis massif. The atmosphere is both mineral and vibrant, with lapiaz, limestone cliffs, and grassy slopes in a preserved Natura 2000 site.
This hike is as appealing for the diversity of its panoramas as for its iconic character: an ideal route to experience the mountains in their most authentic form.
Whatever hike you choose, remember to pack snacks, enough water, sunglasses, sunscreen, a small first-aid kit, as well as clothing suitable for your outing depending on the season and the weather forecast.
