An itinerary with long stages to admire the lakes between Passy, Samoëns, and Sixt-Fer-à-Cheval
Day 1: Plaine-Joux - Platé - Col Pelouse - Lac de Gers Departure Passy Plaine Joux then join Les Egratz to climb to the Platé refuge. Once at the refuge, continue towards Col du Colonney as far as Grandes Platières. Then head for Col de Platé and Col Pelouse. Descend the Combe de Gers to the Lac de Gers refuge. Overnight stay at the Lac de Gers refuge. > 14km. Approx. 6h walking time. Total ascent: 1300m - Total descent: 1100m > Equivalent in effort km: 29.5. Day 2: Gers - Grenairon - Les Fonts From the Lac de Gers refuge, start the descent towards Englène, passing through La Pépinière, Entre Deux Nants and the Cascade de Sabaudy. At Englène, cross Sixt-fer-à-Cheval to Salvagny, from where you'll start the ascent to Grenairon via La Feulatière. Return to the Fonts refuge. Overnight stay at the refuge des Fonts. > 20km. Approx. 10h walking. Ascent: 1500m - Descent: 1700m > Equivalent in effort km: 40. Day 3: Les Fonts - Anterne - Lac de Pormenaz - Lac Vert - Plaine-Joux From the Les Fonts refuge, descend to the Alfred Wills refuge. Then head for Lac d'Anterne, pass the Col d'Anterne and return to the refuge de Moëde. Follow the signs for Lac de Pormenaz, then the Argentières trail to the Chatelet d'Ayères. From there, follow the Lac Vert to Plaine-Joux. > 18km. Approx. 8h30 walking time. Total ascent: 1300m - Total descent: 1450m > Equivalent in effort km: 34.5. Accommodation and meals can be booked directly with the refuges.

From November to May, the route is cleared. Snow may still be present in spring.
In winter, access to the Tour des Fiz is not recommended (high-level ski mountaineering only).
