Intensive trail running ahead? Get ready with this 64km course and over 5000m EG!
Day 1: Plaine-Joux - Varan - Barmerousse - Grandes Platières - Gers From Passy Plaine-Joux, head towards Guébriant, Chalets de Charbonnière and Varan. From Varan, climb to Platé via the Col de Barmerousse. Once at the refuge, continue towards Col du Colonney as far as Grandes Platières. Then head for Col de Platé and Col Pelouse. Descend the Combe de Gers to the Lac de Gers refuge. Overnight stay at the Lac de Gers refuge. > 19.5km. Approx. 9h walking. Total ascent: 1800m - Total descent: 1650m > Equivalent in effort km: 41. Day 2: Gers - Grenairon - Les Fonts From the Lac de Gers refuge, start the descent towards Englène, passing through La Pépinière, Entre Deux Nants and the Cascade de Sabaudy. At Englène, cross Sixt-fer-à-Cheval to Salvagny, from where you'll start the ascent to Grenairon via La Feulatière. Return to the Fonts refuge. Overnight stay at the refuge des Fonts. > 20km. Approx. 10h walking. Total ascent: 1500m - Total descent: 1700m > Equivalent in effort km: 40. Day 3: Les Fonts - Alfred Wills - Sales From the Refuge des Fonts, follow the signs for the Refuge Alfred Wills and then the Collet d'Anterne to reach the Vallon and the Refuge de Sales. Overnight stay at Refuge de Sales. > 11.5km. Approx. 5h walking time. Total ascent: 1200m - Total descent: 600m > Equivalent in effort km: 25. Day 4: Sales - Platé - Plaine-Joux From Sales, head towards Combe à l'Ours to take the Col de la Portette, which takes you to the Platé refuge. From there, descend to Plaine-Joux via the Passage des Egratz. > 10.5km. Approx. 5h15 walking time. Total ascent: 650m - Total descent: 1150m > Equivalent in effort km: 20.

In winter, access to the Tour des Fiz is not recommended (high-level ski mountaineering only).
