Description
Douarnenez, 1924: "Sardine workers are the lowest-paid female workers in France. Their job consists of cutting, frying, and canning sardines, at any hour of the day or night."
Revolt was brewing, and one day, these women rose up together. They owned nothing, yet they dared. They feared hunger, yet they gritted their teeth. The bosses refused to talk, yet they defied them. They faced threats of excommunication, yet they persevered. They did not always agree, yet they united.
