The Cursed Rider - Adventure Game

Objective of the game: Using the free Geocaching app on your smartphone and the game kit provided at the tourist office, you must solve six challenges in the forest before reaching the treasure. The story: You are a young squire, and after many years of battle, you have returned to your homeland. But before you can reach your castle, you must cross a forest haunted by a headless horseman... Will you succeed? How to play: Head to the Cluses tourist office to pick up your game kit. One kit is needed for the whole family. Our team will explain how the Geocaching app works, which will help you find and solve the various puzzles along the trail. The Route: The trail begins at the Lidl supermarket parking lot in Cluses and follows a path through the forest that will lead you to the church in Châtillon-sur-Cluses. At the top, you can buy sandwiches at Tiffany Bakery and have a picnic in the park near the castle ruins. The return trip follows the same route. You can stop at the Coopérative du Val d’Arly to stock up on local products. You’ll receive a 5% discount on your receipt upon presentation of the game booklet. Location: Cluses is located in a valley between the towns of Sallanches and Bonneville. Things to Do and See in Cluses: Visit the Museum of Watchmaking and Bar Turning, located on the floor above the Tourist Office at 100 Place du 11 Novembre. Take a refreshing stroll along the Arve River or set out to discover notable heritage sites along the “Au Fil du Patrimoine” trail. Food and Drink: Near the trailhead, the Val d’Arly Cooperative lets you put together a picnic with delicious local products. You’ll receive a 5% discount upon presentation of the activity booklet. Picnic tables are also located at the start of the trail. ​ Once you reach the end of the trail, the bakery in Châtillon-sur-Cluses offers delicious sandwiches and pastries. ​ On your way back down to Cluses, you’ll find numerous restaurants, including Le Marysam, Le 8 Mai, Sur le Zinc, and Tartempion, all of which offer child-friendly options. Finding shade: Most of the game takes place in the cool shade of the forest, but be sure to bring sun protection for the end of the trail. Parking: You’ll find a metered parking area in front of the Cluses Tourist Office where you can pick up your booklet. To start the game, park in the Lidl supermarket parking lot, located at 350 Avenue de Châtillon in Cluses. Restrooms: There are no restrooms along the route. The nearest public restrooms are at the Cluses train station. Families: No reservation required. Groups and school groups: By reservation only.
