A varied walk in the Danay sector, between forest, snow-covered meadows and superb views of the Thônes valley. Intermediate level.
From the Granges reservoir:
Follow the road for 200m, then take the path on the left for 1km and follow the signs. Be careful along the cross-country ski trail (keep to the right). Take the track on the left and walk up the field to the “Sur le Char” chalet. Turn right onto the Route du Danay. Descend to the Granges reservoir.
From the Bartavelles picnic area:
Take the path through the forest for 500m, then turn left towards Les Frasses and follow the signs. Be careful on the stretch along the cross-country ski trail (keep to the right). Take the track on the left and walk up the field to the “Sur le Char” chalet. Rejoin the route du Danay and descend for 2km, then take the right-hand path back to the picnic area.
