In 1607, Saint Francis de Sales became the first bishop to visit all the parishes.
On the road leading to the Montpellaz Chapel, in the woods below, stands the Oratory of Saint Francis de Sales, built in memory of the great Savoyard saint of the Counter-Reformation. Legend has it that he stopped in this copse to quench his thirst. Since then, the water from this so-called miraculous spring is said to be beneficial for eye ailments.

Once you’ve visited the spring, do pop along on foot to the Montpellaz Chapel.
