The Black Tower Chapel is believed to date from 1849 and was likely founded by the hamlet’s residents to place themselves under the protection of Saint Bernard, who is invoked to ward off flood damage. It was restored in 1997.

The statue of the Virgin and Child is said to have been found on the banks of the nearby Arve River after the catastrophic mudslide in Saint-Gervais in July 1892, which claimed nearly 200 lives.
