Description
Join our educational activities to learn the right habits for hiking, discover mountain ecology, and understand how to coexist peacefully with guard dogs (patous) on our mountain pastures.
The mountains are a living, shared space. To ensure your hikes are safe and environmentally friendly, come join our educational and fun activities!
On the agenda, our instructors will cover three essential topics for every hiker:
- Coexisting with livestock guard dogs (patous): Understand the role of these herd guardians and learn the behaviors to adopt (and those to avoid) when crossing an alpine pasture to ensure peaceful encounters.
- Essential hiker habits: Because a successful hike starts with planning! Discover how to properly prepare for your outing, the importance of following trail markers, managing your trash, and minimizing your impact on this fragile environment.
- Immersion in mountain ecology: Keep your eyes open and learn to interpret your surroundings. We’ll help you discover the richness of the local flora and fauna, as well as the dynamics of our high-altitude landscapes.
An essential workshop for hiking responsibly and safely, and for gaining a fresh perspective on our beautiful mountains!
