The Saxel Oratory was founded in 1785 by the peddler Marin Joseph Fontaine. It still belongs to the Saxel Residents’ Association .

In the central niche are three statuettes depicting the Holy Family: Mary, Joseph, and Jesus. The niche is closed off by an iron grille bearing the colporteurs’ emblem. The basin in front of the oratory was added in 1904.
