Mr. Chasse

Feydeau invites us on a hunting trip—in every sense of the word—in this biting vaudeville. The formula is familiar but always effective: few characters but a maximum of side-splittingly funny, farcical situations. Taking advantage of his friend Duchotel’s departure on a hunting trip, Moricet courts his wife, Léontine. She initially resists, only to discover that she herself is being cheated on... They all end up at the same address under the Countess’s roof: 40 Rue d’Athènes… *Monsieur chasse* is the vaudeville of all vaudevilles that made its author famous; it was, in fact, Feydeau’s own favorite play. It features a whirlwind of impossible situations that bring together husband, wife, mistress, lover, and neighbors… and which earned Feydeau—who was never equaled in this art—the titles “engineer of laughter” and “genius clockmaker.” The bar opens 1.5 hours before the show starts and offers gourmet snacks in a warm and welcoming atmosphere. We offer a variety of options—savory and sweet—for both big and small appetites, tailored to suit your preferences.
