This hike offers an exceptional view of Lake Annecy, while the crossing of the Plateau takes you deep into the heart of a remarkable geological formation made up of channels, fissures, and crevices: the lapiaz.
The Parmelan Plateau can be reached via several routes. The trailhead at the Chalet de l'Anglettaz offers the shortest hike, starting at an elevation of 1,500 meters. However, the access road leading to the final parking lot is in very poor condition for 4 kilometers. It should therefore be avoided by vehicles that cannot handle unpaved roads.
This Parmelan hike is made technically challenging by the section crossing lapiaz; it is therefore not recommended for young children, or in wet or foggy conditions.
