For this Land'art activity, I propose to focus on the miniature habitats of imaginary beings living in mountain forests.
This project can be carried out over several sessions, or with 1 to 3 groups at the same time, as the theme can be extended to the creation of gardens for each habitat, and then unified by a series of links (horizontal, road, bridge, etc./vertical, rope, liana, etc.) to form a village.
From a central meeting point, each person chooses a creative space. Safety and organizational rules are discussed, followed by a discussion of the representation of land art and respect for the natural environment.
After a period of collecting natural elements, the creative work begins: organizing, sharing ideas and collaborating. This time of research, even confusion, and sensory confrontation is necessary. I then intervene to "open" the viewer's eyes, encourage reflection, help collaboration and so on.
The accompanying adults are active with the children.
At the end of the session, the group visits the "exhibition": each pair explains its progress and shows its creation. The souvenir is created by photography or video (drawing and narrative writing can also be used).
Other themes are possible, allowing each age group to participate according to its abilities. For kindergarten (Grande section) and first grade, for example, a shorter time in small groups is designed (2 hours), and in situ drawing is also used.
My strong points: I plan an alternative arts and crafts solution with the teaching team beforehand in case of inclement weather. And I can adapt to your class or school project.
