A wild, unspoilt setting at the foot of Mont Charvin, nestled amongst mountain pastures and offering exceptional views: Lake Mont Charvin.
Starting from the Sous l’Aiguille car park in Manigod, this 10km hike takes you to the magnificent Lac du Mont Charvin, nestled in the heart of the mountain pastures and overlooked by the peaks of the Aravis. An accessible route, though requiring a good level of fitness, it offers superb panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. An ideal hike for a day out in the countryside.
The peaceful, unspoilt lake makes for a perfect stop before heading back down, as does the Aulp de Fier mountain pasture above, where you’ll want to buy some fine cheese from our alpine pastures.
Carry on to the ridge, a 5-minute walk from the lake, to take in the view of Savoie.
Bear in mind that the Fier river begins right here, at your feet.
The hike is available from March to November. From December to April, the route is best tackled on snowshoes or cross-country skis, provided you have checked the weather and snow conditions.
