A lovely hike through the forest above the village of Reposoir. Following trails and passing through snow-covered fields, you’ll climb up to the Forclaz mountain pastures, where a stunning panoramic view awaits you. An authentic route for exploring the local hills.

The trail winds pleasantly through the snow-covered fields. Along this section, you’ll cross the road several times; be sure to follow the trail markers carefully so you can rejoin the trail on the opposite side each time. Along the way, you’ll pass a charming wayside shrine, a testament to the local heritage. Get your calves ready for the next section: the Bellegarde climb. This stretch is steeper and requires sustained effort, but your hard work will be rewarded by the beauty of the landscapes that unfold before you. Continue on to the hamlet of “Planzury.” At “Planzury,” turn right toward “La Forclaz.” A change of scenery: you’ll now reach a wide forest trail. The going is more even and comfortable here, climbing gently but steadily through the alpine pastures to the authentic chalets of La Forclaz, the end of your ascent. Return: the descent follows the same route. Be sure to bring hiking poles and waterproof hiking boots to get the most out of your hike.

Head to Le Reposoir and follow the signs for the Col de la Colombière. Park at the hairpin turn in Bellegarde. The trail starts at Chemin de La Forclaz. You can also start from the village if snow conditions permit.
