The ideal family walk! Come to the pastures near Lac de Roy, a treasure of Praz de Lys Sommand, facing Mont-Blanc.

The magnificent glacial Lac de Roy is a must-see of our resort. Panoramic view of the Grandes Alpes. Getting to the lake via this mountainside footpath facing Mont-Blanc is an incredible experience. You’ll most likely see marmots on the pastures, so take the time to observe them! During the summer holidays, the site can get very crowded: it’s best to go before noon or in the late afternoon, and consider taking the Giffre shuttle buses to get to the starting point. Adapt your equipment according to your level and the weather. Stay on the marked trails.

Tips
A must-see marmot spot! From mid-July to mid-August, take advantage of the opening of the Haut Fleury chairlift to reach Lac de Roy at 1,660 m via the descent.
