Hiking Trail: Le Sapin Président (President Fir) - from Le Grand Arvet

In the heart of the forest, set off to discover the famous President Fir, a remarkable tree that impresses with its size and age. Standing 47 metres tall, this majestic conifer has watched over the mountains for more than 260 years. A short climb through the woods leads to this impressive “King of the Forest”. Its surroundings are a pleasant spot for a family break and a great place for children to explore. To add to the adventure, there is a geocache near the President Fir: remember to prepare your search before setting off, as mobile phone coverage is limited in the area. A short, easy walk to discover an exceptional natural heritage site at an altitude of 1,000 metres. Hike safely! The walking time given is approximate and does not include breaks. The route description/step-by-step guide provides general guidance but does not replace a 1:25,000 hiking map or other hiking guides available from our Tourist Office!
