Description
Documentary film by Alain Duval.
As the last remaining unoccupied high-mountain pasture in the Aravis range of Haute-Savoie, the "Chavanne" (or Vormy dairy hut) had lost its original purpose; it took the determination of local officials, supported by volunteers, to envision the pasture's revival. Since May 2018, the site has come back to life with the arrival of a family and a menagerie—including sheep, goats, poultry, horses, and pigs—alongside on-site cheese production and processing. This documentary tells the story of the people who work and inhabit the Vormy pasture, keeping ancestral pastoral traditions alive, and those who are transforming it into a place of sharing and conviviality, thereby rekindling the "spirit of the mountain pasture."
