How were ropes and twine made before modern materials came along? In partnership with the Château des Rubins, discover wetland plants that have been used since prehistoric times to make everyday objects. A hands-on workshop to understand these ancient techniques and try them out for yourself.

Observe the plants, learn to identify them, discover how to harvest them and get to grips with the techniques for processing their fibres. You’ll make your own string or a bracelet to take home as a souvenir.

This activity is suitable for ages 8 and over, ideal for families, nature enthusiasts and anyone wishing to discover an ancient craft in a fun way.

Guides from the Château des Rubins will welcome participants throughout the activity. Demonstrations and discussions will help you understand the uses of the plants before you get hands-on and create your own piece.
