Description
This former farmhouse, of which only beautiful ruins—restored in 1998—remain, served as the gateway to the Chartreux estate.
This was the point of entry to the Reposoir Valley, via a vaulted passageway. The current façade likely dates from the 17th century. It strongly resembles the architecture of the Chartreuse. A farmer lived there and was responsible for collecting the toll owed to the monks. The statue of the Virgin and Child that now stands in the central niche of the Porte d’Âge is a copy of the early 16th-century statue, created by the sculptor Béatrice Sassone-Bouvet in 2002.

- Coming from Cluses, park in the lot on the left, near the “Reblochon” sign. From the parking lot, walk back down a short distance along the road (toward Cluses) to find the trailhead on the left. When you reach the “Vestiges Porte d’Âge” sign, you have 150 meters left to go before you arrive.
