Description

La Rioule is a festival in the Saint-Gervolain dialect! A day to discover the skills, crafts, traditions and folk dances of the Mont-Blanc region, in a friendly and festive atmosphere.
La Rioule, a traditional festival in Saint-Gervais, celebrates the craftsmanship, traditions and folk culture of the Mont-Blanc region. Organised by the La Chamoschire association, it brings together craftspeople, enthusiasts and folk groups to showcase the skills and practices of days gone by. The programme includes wool spinning, woodcarving, medicinal plants and old-fashioned coffee… Visitors will also be able to find local produce such as honey, cakes and crêpes, as well as visit the La Chamoschire shop. The day will be enlivened by folk dances performed by three groups: L’tropé de Combloux, Sundgauvia, from Rixheim in Alsace, and the La Chamoschire group. They will take turns showcasing their dances, costumes and repertoires. ‘La Rioule’ means ‘the festival’ in the Saint-Gervolain dialect. It’s a name that perfectly captures the spirit of this traditional event: coming together, passing on skills and keeping local traditions alive.
