Description

Join in this unique dialogue between two extraordinary regions: the Alps and the coast of Morbihan.
Stemming from the sister-county partnership between the departments of Haute-Savoie and Morbihan, the exhibition celebrates a shared goal: to protect, restore, and preserve natural areas and landscapes. Both regions face common challenges, particularly regarding coastal development pressure. Through the eyes of two Breton artists who explore our relationship with the natural world, Morbihan reveals a vibrant ecosystem on the shores of Lake Geneva, safeguarded by passionate advocates. The photographers: “Les Sentinelles” by Éric Garault: his portraits highlight the human element at the heart of the struggle. They echo the Morbihan Department’s commitment to raising public awareness of “responsible behavior.” “Les Sanctuaires” by Emmanuel Berthier: tributes to fragility and the long term, the photographs by this trained naturalist illustrate the concept of a “sanctuary” that the Department of Haute-Savoie is promoting throughout its territory. The Rovorée-La Châtaignière estate, a Haute-Savoie Nature site: this 24-hectare estate is owned by the Conservatoire du Littoral and the Department of Haute-Savoie. It is managed and designated as a “sensitive natural area” by the Department to preserve its landscapes and biodiversity.
