Edith and Me: A Play

Collapsed at the edge of the stage, a singer no longer has the energy or the strength to perform or sing. Too many buried wounds, too many silences too heavy to bear. A miracle backstage. An actress, puppeteer, and multifaceted singer with a lyrical voice, Yaël Rasooly is one of the most exhilarating artists in contemporary Israeli theater. For this latest production, she has created a life-size puppet version of our legendary singer—as if a double of herself. The two merge and reveal themselves in unison to free themselves from a haunting past. We laugh, we’re moved, and we no longer know who is who.
