A challenging e-MTB loop starting from Le Bettex, passing through the villages of Saint-Gervais, Megève, Demi-Quartier and Combloux. A black-rated route reserved for experienced mountain bikers, featuring a mix of steep climbs, challenging descents and stunning Alpine views.
The 4-Commune Loop is a challenging e-MTB route starting from Le Bettex, offering a strenuous ride through the varied landscapes of the four communes of Saint-Gervais-les-Bains, Megève, Demi-Quartier and Combloux.
The route begins with a gradual climb towards the Plateau de la Croix, perfect for warming up before tackling the more technical sections. You then head to Hermance, before switching to a descent towards Le Planay, which requires attention and control, particularly on the sections through woodland or over rocky terrain.
The route then crosses the Edmond de Rothschild road, beneath the famous Mont d’Arbois golf course, before reaching Les Choseaux, a smoother section but still punctuated by technical sections. You then pass beneath the Princesse cable car at Demi-Quartier, before reaching Prapacot, in the heart of the countryside, and gradually climbing towards Le Bettex along a steady forest track.
This black-rated route is designed for experienced mountain bikers who are comfortable on technical and physically demanding terrain. It combines alpine trails, technical single tracks and forest crossings, offering a total immersion in the alpine landscape, amidst forests, meadows and unobstructed views of the Mont Blanc massif.
Wearing a helmet and protective gear is strongly recommended; a mountain bike suitable for downhill riding with an appropriate braking system is required. A mountain biking guide is available from all bike hire companies in the valley as well as at the Tourist Information Offices.
