Jean-Claude Gallotta returns with a sparkling, energetic dance piece—an ode to his favorite female rockers—in this reimagining of *My Ladies Rock*, a version featuring six performers. From Aretha Franklin to Janis Joplin, from Patti Smith to Brenda Lee, their voices and energy resonate in a dance-filled playlist that’s fiery and liberating! No stranger to blending dance with film, video, and music, the choreographer explores the world of female rock here. A history often written from a male perspective, relegating women to the roles of muses, groupies, or inspirations… but not for Jean-Claude Gallotta. With passion and tenderness, he shines a light on—and brings to life—all those who have claimed the right to be themselves, right down to their excesses and musical genius: the free-spirited and the daring, the provocative, the liberated, and the unbridled.
