Coux Loop

As you take this walk through the hills above Thyez, come discover Mont Orchez and its rich natural heritage. Designated a Natural Area of Faunistic and Floristic Interest, Mont Orchez lies at the crossroads of several regions. Its rocky areas and scree slopes make it an ideal habitat for many remarkable and protected plant species, such as the orange lily. Nestled between Le Môle and the Giffre Massif, this small hill in the Chablais region offers beautiful views of the Arve Valley from its Thylon-facing slope. Starting point: Rontalon (Parking Lot) 1/ From “Rontalon (Parking),” head toward “Sur le Coux via Rontalon.” Continue to follow signs for “Sur le Coux” via “Rontalon.” 2/ Once you reach “Sur le Coux,” continue toward “Rontalon (Parking) via ‘Le Coux de Marignier.’” Continue following this route; you’ll pass through “Le Coux de Marignier,” “Sous le Coux,” “La Bourbonnyre,” and “Nierfait” before returning to your starting point.
