Clos Parchet Farm and Folk Museum Tour in French

Born of the desire to revive this traditional farmhouse dating from 1815, the Clos Parchet Ecomuseum opened its doors in 1994 and welcomes the public with guided tours. These tours are offered by the Guides du Patrimoine Savoie Mont Blanc, and include activities around the bread oven during the summer months. The tour ends with a convivial tasting of regional products. Located at an altitude of approximately 1,000 meters on the sunny south-facing slope of Samoëns, this farmhouse is listed in the Supplementary Inventory of Historic Monuments. It has remained virtually unchanged since its construction at Clos Parchet in 1815 and bears witness to the family's seasonal migrations. Accompanied by your guide, you can wander through the kitchen and the main living area, as well as explore the bread oven, the granary, and the storage shed. A cataloged collection of over 2,000 objects illustrates daily life, farming activities, and traditional trades specific to the Haut-Giffre valley—such as agro-pastoralism, traditional crop cultivation, and woodworking and stonemasonry.
