Description
Set to Tchaikovsky’s *Swan Lake*, rearranged by Florence Caillon into a contemporary score, five circus performers and dancers form a stunning flock of swans.
Straddling the line between romantic illusion and appreciation of the other, Florence Caillon offers a circus-inspired, contemporary take on this legendary ballet, rich with innovative movement. As both a film composer and a circus artist—and the founder of a choreographed circus—Florence Caillon invites us to immerse ourselves once more in the imagination of this ballet by forging even closer ties between circus movement, choreography, and music. Solos, duets, trios, and group movements draw inspiration alternately from animal and human behavior, exploring the bonds that unite living beings and form the foundation of their relationships.
This lake, a metaphor for our world on a smaller scale, speaks to the fragility of life and reminds us of our interdependence with the living world as a whole.
