Départ d'Annemasse, Esplanade François Mitterrand (Place de la gare), 74100 Annemasse

Description

From its source in the Voirons mountains, the river Foron runs right across the Annemasse-Les Voirons area. From Machilly to Gaillard, the banks of the river are surfaced and it's very enjoyable to follow them through the farmland plains, the marshes and the villages.
This walk along the Foron invites you to discover remarkable protected wetlands, such as the Blessy marshes or the Machilly lake, by following the Foron path, which is registered with the PDIPR. The trail, accessible on foot or mountain bike, stretches for around 15 km between Bons-en-Chablais and Annemasse, and can be followed in either direction. The Blessy marshes are accessible via signposted paths, allowing you to immerse yourself in the heart of these unspoilt natural environments. The circuit also offers the chance to discover the Moulin de Carra, a place dedicated to raising awareness of natural and cultural heritage. Departure is from Lac de Machilly, and information panels all along the route enhance the visit. A pleasant break is available at the Parc des Écureuils in Ville-la-Grand, ideal for relaxing in the heart of nature. Following the border, the route offers connections to Switzerland.
