Description
A concert performed by Louis-Avit Colombier, harpsichordist and Baroque improviser. The program features works by Bach, Rameau, Couperin, Scarlatti, Purcell, J. Bull, and others, as well as improvisations based on works by the composers featured in the program, in the style of the Baroque era.
Louis-Avit Colombier (louis-avit.fr) trained at the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de Montpellier before enrolling at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Lyon and subsequently being admitted to the prestigious Haute École de Musique de Genève.
In addition to performing the great works of the repertoire, Louis-Avit Colombier will also offer improvisations, reviving an essential tradition of the Baroque era. Musicians of that time would freely improvise preludes, ornaments, and variations throughout the concert, making each performance a unique experience.
Passionate about historical performance practices, the young artist seeks to restore the harpsichord’s full spontaneity and expressive freedom. His lively and inventive approach allows audiences to rediscover the instrument in a more liberated light, far removed from a strictly academic interpretation.
