An easy hike with just one challenging section (a steep climb). There's something for everyone: a lake, a forest, and panoramic views of the mountains surrounding Le Reposoir.
Step-by-Step Guide:
From the church to Le Châble: 25 minutes. Take the Prariand road and turn left at the first intersection onto “Chemin de la Chapelle.” Follow the signs for Le Châble straight ahead, cross the concrete bridge, and head up the forest path to the Ferme d’en Haut. Continue along the path that runs alongside the farm on the left and keep climbing through the woods until you reach Le Châble. From Le Châble to Vallon: 30 minutes Head toward Vallon by continuing on the path that descends toward Saint Anthelme. Pass through the hamlet of Saint Anthelme and continue downhill without leaving the forest road until you reach the sign for the Oratory. Continue toward Vallon. From Vallon to the Chartreuse du Reposoir: 20 minutes Turn right and follow the signs for “Bassin.” You’ll pass the Ferme de Vallon; continue until you reach the cross. Take the path that climbs to your left, behind the cross. Continue along this path as it climbs through the woods, cross the wooden footbridge, and pass by the Bassin. Exit the woods and continue downhill toward the Chartreuse du Reposoir. From the Chartreuse du Reposoir to the church: 20 minutes Walk down the road along Lake Carmel. Take the trail on the left to return to the woods. Continue to the Fréchet Cross and head back down the trail, then take the road toward the village of Reposoir and the church.
