Explore the hills of Samoëns in a fun way! Choose from two trails: THE LITTLE ADVENTURER – 2 km • 4 puzzles A fun walk in Samoëns 1600. THE GRAND ADVENTURER – 7 km • 8 puzzles Extend the adventure of THE LITTLE ADVENTURER by continuing on to the Tête des Saix (2,100 m): - Take the Chariande Express chairlift up, then solve the additional puzzles as you hike back down to Samoëns 1600—a walk of just over an hour; - or hike the round trip between Samoëns 1600 and the Tête des Saix, which takes about 3 hours. Starting point for both routes: at the top station of the Grand Massif Express gondola. We recommend taking the gondola to reach Samoëns 1600, but you can also drive there. Introduction: Centuries ago, the Frahans (stone masons) discovered that the Giffre was not just a capricious river, but a vein of raw energy. To protect the valley from devastating floods, they built the Grand Régulateur, a monumental machine hidden within the mountain that uses the vibrations of the Echo Stones to calm the fury of the waters. But the balance has been broken. Looters have attempted to seize the mechanism, shattering the sacred alignment. Eight Echo Stones have been scattered throughout the mountains. Without them, the Regulator roars ominously, and the river threatens to overflow. The fate of the valley lies in your hands. You must traverse the mountains of Samoëns 1600, decipher the clues left by the ancient Frahans, and recover the eight missing Echo Stones. Only by reuniting them can you stabilize the mechanism before it’s too late. Please note: the puzzles are designed for teens and adults.
