Let yourself be surprised by this unique tour! After exploring the church and cloister, take a tour of the Abbey's framework! Like experts, explore the monastery's skeleton and discover all its secrets!

Explore Abondance Abbey from top to bottom! Join one of our cultural mediators for an overview of the Abbey's history, and marvel at its trompe-l'œil church and cloister with 15th-century murals. Then, equipped with a helmet, climb the 44 steps leading up to the monastery's roof timbers. Examine the skeleton of this majestic monument to see how it has evolved over time. Take advantage of this privileged moment to appreciate the various restoration and consolidation operations. Feel, touch... and retrace almost 300 years of work on this unique tour! Round off your visit with a tour of the exhibition “From history to art: sacred heritage in the Abondance Valley”, which contains treasures from our collection, and enjoy the peace and quiet of the Abbey's former orchard (weather permitting). Duration: 1h - 1h15 guided tour + 30 mn self-guided tour of the exhibition and garden. Access to the roof structures is limited to 18 people, with the possibility of accommodating two groups at the same time. Dress for the mountain climate. Reservations required.

From the shores of Lake Geneva, access via the Gavot plateau, heading towards the Abondance valley (approx. 40 mins).

The entrance to the site is located at Place de l’Abbatiale, accessible from the village centre via the Passage des Chanoines.

Separate access to the church (no visits during services).
