Animali ammessi Dogs must be kept on a leash due to the presence of herds and wildlife.
Protection dogs are present in this sector, and we recommend that you adapt your behavior to limit disturbance of the herd and the triggering of the dogs (barking, approach, etc.). If the dogs approach, it is important to let them do so and not attempt to force their way in.
When approaching the herd :
- go well around the herd, without endangering yourself;
- walk slowly, get off your bike
- stay together. Speak clearly, without shouting, to signal your presence.
In the event of an encounter :
- stop: dogs will smell you to identify you
- don't force your way through
- don't run away or turn your back on the dogs
- don't stare into their eyes
- do not pet the dogs
- don't feed the dogs
- you can hold an object (bag, bike, jacket) to put space between you and the dogs. However, do not use this object to repel dogs.
- avoid sudden gestures, don't threaten them.
Once the dogs have calmed down or moved off, walk away and keep your distance.
Companion or hunting dogs:
For your safety and theirs, pet or hunting dogs are strongly discouraged in the vicinity of herds.
In any case, always keep your dog on a leash.
In case of conflict,
- let go of the leash,
- don't interfere
- don't hug your dog.
