Not to be missed Winter at your own pace

At the heart of the Portes du Soleil ski area, La Chapelle d’Abondance offers a varied playground for all winter sports enthusiasts. Beginners and experienced skiers alike can enjoy accessible, well-maintained runs, with the option of joining neighbouring areas for even more thrills. Nordic skiers can enjoy kilometres of groomed runs through snow-covered valleys, forests and alpine meadows, while snowshoe trekkers can explore the unspoilt, silent countryside. To experience winter in a different way, dog-sleigh rides offer an enchanted interlude between forests and white plateaux. After all that effort, there’s plenty of time to relax in the cosy accommodation, spas and wellness areas. As for flavours, La Chapelle d’Abondance delights gourmets with its Savoyard specialities. In the mountain inns and restaurants, you can enjoy fondue, raclette, tartiflette… or Berthoud, a local treasure made from melted Abondance cheese.
