What if the vine made a grand return to Villaz? That's the somewhat crazy gamble of Francis Rousset, a winemaker not quite like the others.
A former bookseller turned farmer-winemaker, he replanted a few rows of vines on the Coteaux des Girondales in 2016, reviving a vineyard that had disappeared for over a century. With 3 hectares in a single block, cultivated organically, the Villaz vineyards boast 9 grape varieties, yielding 6 wines: three white and three red.
Mondeuse, Altesse, Persan… thanks to this beautiful array of Alpine grape varieties, Francis crafts vibrant, authentic wines full of character – just like him. Here, there are no set formulas: simply passion, good old-fashioned common sense, and the desire to give voice to this long-forgotten Haute-Savoie terroir.
Authentic wines, born on the slopes of Villaz… and made to be shared.
The evening's program: a guided tasting of the estate's wines; a discussion with the winemaker about his approach and his work; A convivial moment dedicated to pleasure and discovery; gourmet platters to share, carefully selected to complement the wines.
