This leaflet gives information about the route towards La Tête Colonney - we recommend that you set out at first light in order to experience the morning colours. Only experienced walkers, with a good head for heights, should attempt the ascent of La Tête Colonney.
From the Platé hut, follow the itinerary left the day before, then head for the Colonney pass.
to the Colonney pass (2321 m), where the world is very mineral and you enter the
the Platé desert. At the Colonney pass, you may be lucky enough to see
to see herds of ibex, who are more than happy to be photographed!
for photos! Continue along the ridge towards the heads of Monthieu and Lindars. The view is splendid, but the ridge becomes more tapered, the path becomes lost in the maze of rocks, and a small descent equipped with a cable allows you to continue towards the Tête du Colonney. The latter can be recognized from afar by its geodesic marker. Part of the way back is by the same route. After the Tête des Lindars, at the arrival of the chairlift of the same name, a path swings to your right down the combe des Forts de Platé, past your refuge and on to Les Egratz, Les Miots and Plaine Joux.
