Situated between the altitudes of 1235 m. and 2800 m., the Grands Montets area enables you to ski the greatest height losses in the world in the heart of the mountains, close to a glacier.
Built in 1963, this ropeway located in Argentière (1252 m) provides access to the 3275 m Grands Montets, below the incredible Aiguille Verte. With the fire in September 2018 on the Lognan intermediate station (1972 m), the Argentière > Lognan and Lognan > Grands Montets cableways are closed. Access to the resort is via the Plan Joran gondola (2134 m). But by 2026-2027, everyone will once again be able to enjoy the magic of these great natural spaces, thanks to the stations designed by architect Renzo Piano. Access to the summit of the "Grands" will be via the 3S cable car, which embodies comfort and safety at the highest level.
