The Onnion church was built between 1824 and 1829, on the site of the old one, based on plans by an architect named Amoudruz.
The beauty of the style, the thickness of the walls and the solidity of the framework had, it seems, won the admiration of many specialists. Of particular note is the simple beauty of the portico, whose keystone, incidentally, bears the date 1823. The roof was originally made of Morzine slate. The furnishings (altar, chairs, lecterns, baptismal font and communion table) were entrusted to Antoine Chevrier, nicknamed Toine à Michon.
The exterior paintings were done in 1871 by an Italian decorative painter.
The bell, dating from 1732, is a listed historic monument.
