




It once controlled access to the village from the Porte de Nernier. They were closed at night and lined with a portcullis, the passage of which can still be seen in the stones.
To defend the village, the entrance was topped by a tower, demolished in 1875 for safety reasons. The tower, measuring 5m by 6m, was equipped with loopholes and hoardings. A bridge crossed the moat.
