Born in Fribourg in 1963, Michel Layaz is one of the leading contemporary authors in French-speaking Switzerland. His literary work, which began in 1993 with Quartier Terre, now includes some fifteen novels, several of which have won awards.
His latest novel, Deux filles, published by Editions Zoé, was awarded the Prix Lettres Frontières 2025, in which Michel Layaz questions our conception of family ties and what it means to give life.
