The day's workshops and visits are a fun way for children to discover the world of poetry and artists' books.
The day's practical introduction to poetry revolves around a dialogue between nature and poetic art. The guided tour of the temporary exhibition defines the notion of the artist's book, with concrete examples. It is built around a moment of sharing and exchange between the students and the mediator. During the poetic walk, students stroll through the small village of Lucinges, taking in the narrow streets and wooded paths. Poems are read in front of the related landscapes, and resources (leaves, wood, etc.) are collected by the pupils for the next workshop. The theme of the "Words to Pictures" workshop is the creation of an accordion book. Pupils choose a poem quoted in the morning and transcribe it in the form of collages, writing or cut-outs. They work individually or in groups, using a variety of creative tools.
In case of bad weather, the walk will be replaced by a poetry workshop.
This day is accessible to young and old alike. We adapt our approach and workshop times to the age of our audiences.
