La Roche-sur-Foron, Haute-Savoie's second-largest historic town, is as connected to its rich medieval past as it is to its territory and its people, and offers a vibrant, lively town center.
Stroll through this medieval heritage and enjoy its stores, cafés and restaurants. This well-preserved heritage is enhanced by an abundance of flowers - awarded three flowers in the national competition for towns and villages in bloom - as well as by a variety of guided, entertaining, immersive, virtual and storytelling tours for all ages.

A thousand years of history await visitors between the narrow streets and 13th-century gates of the picturesque Plain-Château district. Magnificent noble houses from the 16th and 17th centuries, as well as the merchants' bench or grain measure dating from 1558, immerse visitors in the atmosphere of a prosperous era. The medieval fortifications include three surrounding gates, the Châteaux du Saix and de l'Echelle, and the keep that once dominated the fortress of the Counts of Geneva.
