After exploring issues related to water and forests, this year's event will focus on deciphering the major energy challenges in a context of climate transition and profound changes in usage, particularly in mountain areas.
To address these issues, we are proposing both a specialized approach to the various facets of energy and an approach aimed at the general public, including young people, with a round table discussion involving schoolchildren. The transitions taking place across the region, in both valleys and mountains, will be assessed through several round table discussions on key topics. Finally, a fundamental “side step” will be shared through the issue of societal and economic impact in order to prepare for a just energy transition.
Researchers, experts, elected officials, citizens, and children will thus exchange their views on energy use, its impacts, and the prospects for adaptation at both the local and national levels. Speakers will include:
Étienne Klein, physicist and philosopher of science
Emmanuelle Wargon, chair of the Energy Regulatory Commission
Sophie Mourlon, director of energy at the DGEC
Patrice Geoffron, professor at Paris-Dauphine University, specialist in energy policy
Maxence Cordiez (CEA – Institut Montaigne)
Jean-Pierre Raffarin, former Prime Minister, involved in long-term thinking on sovereignty
Fabrice Pannekoucke, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes regional councilor in charge of territorial transitions
as well as Claude Chambel, Mayor of Combloux, numerous local elected officials, sociologists, technicians, engineers, and field workers involved in renewable energy, renovation, or transition financing projects.
Three days, three complementary perspectives:
Friday 9 January: an afternoon dedicated to the general public and schoolchildren, with a round table discussion with schoolchildren, a participatory quiz and introductory lectures.
Saturday 10 January: a session for an informed audience, featuring presentations by experts on transition policies, energy sovereignty and regulatory issues.
Sunday 11 January: a discussion on regional dynamics, local initiatives and concrete levers to support a just transition.
