The day is structured around an artistic and poetic theme. Workshops and guided tours help to create new paths for reflection.
The aim of this one-day event is to stimulate reflection on the following question: How does the transformation of an object into a work of art redefine our aesthetic perception of everyday life? How does the transformation of an object into a work of art redefine our aesthetic perception of everyday life? Students visit the temporary exhibition at Le Manoir des Livres to learn about the world of artists' books and poetry. They then discover the office of writer and poet Michel Butor, where every object is art. The poetic stroll and the workshop are designed to stimulate the imagination and create a collective work of art using one or more everyday objects. Two workshops are available:
- The "from matter to work" workshop, which consists in creating an accordion book linked to the poems told during the walk. Students choose a poem they've heard in the morning and transcribe it using collage, writing and cut-outs. They work individually with different creative tools. They then present their work to their classmates, explaining their approach and the link between the issue and their work. They leave with their creation.
- The "poor book: from object to art object" workshop: Students are asked to bring in an object they wish to recycle (anything from a plastic bottle to an umbrella). With our help, they will then transform this object into a work of art, using poetry and a variety of art forms.
To find out more about the organization of this day, we invite you to consult the educational file, available here or on the Archipel Butor website. In case of rain, the walk will be replaced by a workshop on poetry.
